All that work for nuttin'

Last week we made stuffed acorn squash. We (Dustin) carefully cut the tops off.

We (Dustin) scooped the seeds out.

We stuffed them full of rice and other tasty fall goodies. Sorry, no picture.
And then we realized that we pretty much hate acorn squash.
Go figure.
That being said...go see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs!!

I totally suck

I've been obsessed with this blog since starting and couldn't get through a week without posting at least 4 or 5 times. All that has changed since I landed here in New York two weeks ago. I have been busy with wedding plans and seeing friends and family.

I've also been too lazy to post. It never seemed like the right time. I have so much to write about and don't even know where to start. My brain has been all over the place since getting here and my anxiety and stress is through the roof. Things will get better once Dustin gets here in 6 days. He's good at calming me down just by being in the same room as me. I've been counting down the days until his arrival since I walked away from him at the Okinawa airport to go through security.

My flight here wasn't too bad. The first two went perfectly well and my neighbor sitting next to me from Tokyo to Washington D.C. was a delight. Thank goodness. But once I got to Washington D.C. all that changed. They cancelled my flight and I had to spend the night there. I was fine with this since I was deliriously tired from not sleeping for about 30 hours. When Dustin called me at the Sheraton later that night I kept telling him that I wasn't even tired and that I was thinking about going down to the 24 hour gym downstairs. He assured me that I was actually tired and needed to sleep. He turned out to be right. I was asleep as soon as I laid down.

The lame thing was, the flight from D.C. to NY was only 30 freakin' minutes long!! Lame.

Wedding plans are almost complete but until it's over I will not be calm. This wedding business is just too much for me. After this week I will feel a lot better since the seating chart will be handed in along with the final payment for the Astoria World Manor. Then we will be poor. But at least I'll be able to finally breathe. Maybe I'll even get excited for the wedding. Maybe not.

I'm more excited to see family. And to observe how my family and Dustin's family interact. I will be spying on them from a nearby bush.

The A.I. tour that I, again, wont be going to

I wanted to last year but they didnt come to Boise. Two years ago they did but we didnt wanna spend the money on it.

I think the top 13 shouldve been able to go on the tour. Not just the top 10. Lame. I was sad to see Alexis go. She wasnt one of my favs but also not one of the ones I could care less for. I think she should've been given a second chance but whatever.

Stupid America not voting enough for Allison! How the hell did she get in the bottom three?! Rubbish. Thats all I have to say about that.

Motown next week! Super excited for that. They'd better do Beatles night again. That was the best shit ever. EVER.

Don't take me out to a restaurant or a bar

At least once every day I go to take a drink from my water bottle, cranberry juice or (just recently) my can of ginger ale. I tilt the receptical too far and a trickle or sometimes an entire river of the liquid spills all over my face and chest.

Every. Single. Day.

I think I just dont pay attention or I forget how small my mouth is and that it cannot hold more than a tablespoon of beverage at a time.

Shameful.

Eragon!

Oh Lordy. I just finished Eragon a few nights ago and cant believe I've waited this long to read it. My brother told me to me to read it ages ago when he stole it from a store back when he was very much into that kinda thing. Stealing, not reading fantasy novels. Hes still very much into fantasy. Then the hubby kept telling me to read it after he got the audio on his MP3 player and listened to it all.

I bought the book a little before we moved from Boise. I figured I'd read it on the plane since it was like eleventy billion hours long. I ended up reading the book my boss gave me instead for some reason. The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. Read it. It was good. Sad and depressing but very good. And it has an Oprah approved sticker on it and you know she rules the world.

I ended up not reading Eragon until after I finished Edgar Sawtelle and Wicked. I was waiting for Son of a Witch to get to me after I ordered it from Amazon. It actually arrived the day after I started Eragon so I just decided to read them at the same time. A little confusing at times since I end up mixing up storylines and characters but it wasnt too bad. Im actually still reading Son of a Witch cause I got way more caught up in Eragon. And Son of a Witch isnt as good as Wicked in my opinion. *shrug*

But Eragon, oh my god! Love love love it! And it was written by this 15 year old homeschooled freak from Montana?! Geez. Now hes older obviously but still. He writes amazing well and doesnt try to seem older than he is by using unnecessarily big words and long paragraphs of boring scenery description. I hate that shit. Thats probably why I'm not to fond of reading The Lord of the Rings. Now I'm reading the second book, Eldest which is about 1000 pages long. Crazy. I dont know if I could ever write that much. This kid makes me feel like I've done nothing with my life. I write alot but I have a problem with most people reading what I write. I'm too critical of what I write and I wouldnt be able to take other people's critique. Plus, I change my writing style constantly and I never know how I wanna write anything out.

AND if I take classes it would make me hate it. I cant just write whenever someone tells me to. I have to have motivation and be inspired. If you tell me to do something I will want to rebel just because. I've always been that way. Even if I wanna do it, if you tell me to I guess it takes the fun out of it and I just dont want to do it anymore. Weird, I know.

But anyways, read Eragon if you havent already and you like fantasy and reading. I dont get people that hate reading and I probably never will. Most likely they just havent found something that sparks their interest. Little bro Brandon hates reading but will read a Guinness World Records book from cover to cover. Hes way into weird facts about shizzzzzz. I adore him:

Goodness gracious, I can't wait to see this wonderfully beautiful little boy again!

Tara's neverending problems

Overreacting again maybe? Maybe. But I'm cranky so dont bother me.

Whats the problemo? you ask. And I wont beat around the bush when I tell you the problem in a single word.

Herpes.

I didnt even notice it coming on! I usually catch my lip being red and irritable before anything has a chance to show up. And then I would Carmex it to death to assure I wouldnt swell up like I'd been stung by a bee. On my lip. While I'm allergic. But it has happened. For the first time in over 2 years. Its kinda funny (but not really cause its yucky) that the last time it happened I didnt have a job either. Or friends. So I didnt really have to worry so much about being seen. The townsfolk wouldve come after me with torches and pitchforks had they known the horror.

I used to suffer from cold sores all the time as a kid for some reason. And we have the pictures to prove it. I think it may have something to do with the fact that I have a terrible habit of using my teeth to peel the skin off my bottom lip. Then bacteria or whatever gets into it or something. Possibly. Except its on my top lip this time. Thats never happened before. All I know is that I feel like a monster. My lip just keeps growing and growing and tomorrow I'm going to wake up to find my lip has taken over half of my face. So gross.

At least this time I'm not as worried about Dustin seeing it. I barely care. But its still only the first day. Who knows how bad it'll get? I hate the fact that I cant kiss him though. :( The last thing I want is for him to get a cold sore just as mine starts to heal. Totally lame.

I thought about posting a picture but I'm far too vain for that. Puh-leese.
