My sibling-in-laws

Let's take a moment for me to express to all of you how awesome my in laws are. More specifically, my new siblings. I could not pick better people to be added to my family than them. Seriously. I don't look at them as Dustin's brother and sisters anymore. They're MY new brother and sisters. And I get so excited thinking about seeing them again. They're coming to New York to be in our wedding of course, and they get to meet all of my younger siblings. It's just too exciting for words for me! My two worlds are coming together and it will be magical and wonderful and everyone will be friends and happy! At least that's what I see in my head. I love all of these people so much so they just have to get along.
When I first met Dustin's fam in Arizona I was probably more nervous than I needed to be. But I am the shy sort and I'm pretty much always nervous or worried about something from day to day. It's lame and I'm pretty sure one day my heart will explode. But anyways, I remember that whole trip every time I met someone new I was amazed by how awesome every single person in Dustin's family were. It didn't feel real that that many people in a single family could be that cool. It still doesn't make sense. Dustin had told me about everyone but I don't think he expressed enough on how amazing everybody was. I was not prepared for the magic that is Dustin's family.

Now I just feel sooo blessed that I have the best in laws. For reals. They are so fun and kind and all of them make me laugh a lot. Especially Grandma and Grandpa...but that's a whole other story. And they all make good food which is always appreciated. But, I have to say, the siblings are my favourites out of the bunch. My mom and sis Britt probably have figured this out by now cause I've talked about them many many times to them. It's probably because they're the closest to my age so we're more alike in that sense. They have always been extremely accepting of me and I just automatically felt comfortable around them from the very beginning.
Dezirae is 20 and has just recently become one of my best friends. I've always liked her but for some reason, on our last trip to AZ in November, we became pretty damn close. Now I miss her like crazy and I wish we went to high school together cause I would've totally been friends with her. She's beautiful and funny as hell and, best of all, loves Harry Potter. Some days I look at Dustin and wish I was married to Dezirae instead. Just sometimes though. Like when Dustin is digging lint balls out of his belly button. Things like that. I look forward to living close by her so we can obsess over the same things and go shopping and make fun of Dustin together. *sigh* It'll be wonderful.
Then there's Daulton who's 17. He's basically the older version of little bro, Brandon. Except, instead of being obsessed with all things cars, he's obsessed with all things sports. Mainly baseball. Obsessions aside (because I don't get either of them), he is one of the sweetest guys I've ever met. Dustin and I have discussed the fact that Daulton is so like able that if you don't like him, then there's something wrong with you. He's just that amazing. He's good at anything he does and always cracks me up. He reminds me of some of the Green Street boys back in Goshen. I probably feel the most comfortable around him just cause he's super easy to get along with. And he reminds me of my Brandon which is always nice.
Last, but not least, Daylss. She's the "baby" having just turned 13. Look at how damn photogenic she is! I ruin every picture. lol Her face is so gorgeous, it's ridiculous. Dalyss is Dustin's favourite and I'm pretty sure that's clear to everyone. They're very close and I can see why. Dalyss reminds me of Jadzia. She's beyond sweet. She always makes things for Dustin and I and is constantly thinking about us. She's always expressed to me how I'm the best girl for Dustin (of course) and has never said an unkind word to me. She's extremely passionate like Jadzia. And by that I mean, they have tempers. Oh Lordy. They've gotten better over the years but I still love them for it. Dalyss came to our place in Boise for Christmas '07 which I will be forever grateful for. It was my first Christmas away from my family and her being there helped me get over the pain of missing my family immensely. Her and Jadzia should get along famously.
Even writing this whole post doesn't feel like enough to express how much I really really love these people and how exstatic I am to have them as my new siblings. And I love them more and more everytime I see them. I hope all of them are able to come visit us in Okinawa. In the mean time I seriously cannot wait to see them in New York and show them off to all of my family.
